Why we built OptiRide

In short

On the way back from a trip, a group of friends wondered why they compared the flight and the hotel, and not the ride. OptiRide is the missing brick: it queries the apps at the same time and lets you choose.

OptiRide comes from a group of friends who travel together. At the end of a trip, back in Paris, as we were about to book a ride, we asked ourselves a question: why had we used a comparison site for the flight and for the hotel, and not for the ride? One brick was missing.

Because to compare, you had to open three different apps, which we always found absurd. Uber, Bolt, Heetch: each has its own prices and its own waiting times, and there is no fixed rule to know which will be cheapest at a given moment. One evening it is Bolt, the next morning it is Uber, on the same trip.

That is the problem we set out to solve with OptiRide: a single app that queries all these platforms at once and shows you, in a few seconds, which one offers the lowest price for your trip.

How it works in practice

You keep your usual accounts. No need to create anything again. You enter your trip in OptiRide, the app compares prices, and you pick the offer that suits you. One tap then sends you to the provider’s app to complete the booking.

You can also compare without linking any account: OptiRide then shows an estimate.

Useful when you travel too

Talking with users, we realised that comparing is even more valuable away from home. In a city you do not know well, you often have a single reflex, the app you use at home, without knowing that another service sometimes offers better fares there. OptiRide works in France and elsewhere in Europe.

What comes next

OptiRide currently compares Uber, Bolt, Heetch, FreeNow, G7 and LeCab. We are working on adding more services, so that comparing stays useful wherever you are.

The goal has not changed: for OptiRide to become the simple reflex before every ride.
